History and Upbringing: Hermione Granger was a muggleborn witch who, upon receiving the letter that would change her life, wholeheartedly embraced the change and all the challenges that would come with being able to practice magic. Dubbed a “know-it-all” by her peers, a nickname that she has never really been able to get rid of, she chose to learn as much as she could about magic and has had many an occasion to utilize and hone her research and analytical skills. In addition to being famous for her intellect, she also started off her career as an activist, finally getting a chance to work for the promotion of house elves and others who had to face disenfranchisement under previous magical regimes. She currently works for the Department of Magical Law Enforcement where she is one of the foremost researchers, working mostly on the legislative side to level the playing field for magical society.
Hermione married Ron and finally joined the Weasley family for real. She loves her children Rose and Hugo, but sometimes worries about them being exposed to the same scrutiny that she and Harry and Ron were exposed to as kids. She tries to teach them to be respectful of their peers and not to write off anyone before getting to know them, but sometimes it’s easier said than done.
Current State of Mind: She knows very little about what is going on with the genetic magic, and this lack of knowledge irks her to no end. Always ready to lend a hand, she worries that the situation is about to get a lot worse and wants to keep her children out of a fight at all costs.
Role In the Plot: Hermione acts as a sort of balance to Ron (although how effective she is in certain situations with certain characters is questionable), and is there for her children. Her relationship with Rose is a little shaky at the moment, what with all the traditional things that come with dealing with growing up and learning who you are, but she desperately wants to be the one Rose can talk to about her problems.
